If you thought I was crazy last year...
BlogWorld and New Media Expo 2010 is fast approaching and while I didn't plan on attending this year, yet another contest has surfaced that gives me a chance to attend. Izea is offering up passes, airfare, and hotel to this year's event and I want to go! You may remember last year's contest via Alltop in which I came in second place. I had a great time at BlogWorld 2009 and learned lots. This year will be no different, except this year, I want to come in first place.
Part of last year's success (which @REBlogWorld said "raised the bar") was the help I had from my connections via social media and specifically, ActiveRain. Lots of people jumped in and helped and I need that same help this year!
The plan.
My goal is to get 100 (or more) people to film a short video saying why I should be chosen to win the contest and attend BlogWorld 2010. That's it. They don't have to be fancy, long, or have much in them - I need the numbers more than anything!
So, here's how you can help - film a short video. In it, say "Hey Izea, I think you need to pick Matt Stigliano (rerockstar) to win passes, flight, and hotel to BlogWorld 2010." It doesn't have to say exactly that - in fact, I encourage you to a) throw in a plug for you and your business (ie, "Hey this is Matt Stigliano from RE/MAX Access in San Antonio.") and b) use your creativity (you can even say why I shouldn't win or make up some grand story or tell them all about my gambling debts that I need to pay off in Vegas before the goons come and get me - use your imagination).
Once you filmed your video, upload it to YouTube or email it to me [blogworld at rerockstar dot com] and I'll upload it to my page. Then get a few friends, coworkers, family, children, pets, inanimate objects, or strangers to do it as well. Get your buyers and sellers to do it. Your title reps. Your lenders. Famous people. The local news. Whoever you can think of. I'm trying to find 100 people to do it and I need all the help I can get. I'd love to submit a list of thousands!
Deadline for the contest is September 22nd, 2010 at 6 Eastern (and I'll need some time to write, organize, and submit the post) - so do it today! Spread the word to your friends and enemies alike!
