Open house Saturday and Sunday - 2903 Zurich - Woods Of Alon - San Antonio TX 78230

April 4-5, Open House 12-3 PM - 2903 Zurich, San Antonio TX 78230

Once again I will be holding an open house this weekend at 2903 Zurich in KB Home's Woods Of Alon (just south of Wurzbach on NW Military).  There won't be any Spurs players or free ice cream this weekend unfortunately, but I'll be there, so stop on in and say hello.  This 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home is situated on a green belt on two sides with great views of the community's lake.  A 1.5 story (the Overland floor plan), this home has recently been reduced in price to $335,479 and features laminate wood floors, upgraded kitchen, an additional upstairs bedroom, a spacious game room, and a beautiful porch on the back of the house with mature trees and a great view.  To learn more about this house, check out the listing information and stop by to say hello.  There is also a one story Lone Star floor plan home available at 2919 Zurich, currently listed at $279,148.

Matt Bonner Of The Spurs, Free Ice Cream, And Real Estate - This Saturday!

Spurs, Creamy Creations, and 2903 Zurich at Woods Of Alon.

photos courtesy of RMTip21, Amy the Nurse, and me.

If you're in San Antonio, you love the Spurs.

I'm not much of a basketball fan, I admit.  Since I'm from the cold confines of Philadelphia, I'm more of a hockey junkie.  Regardless of my feelings however, the Spurs are worshiped out here.  Well, now is your chance to meet Matt BonnerSaturday, March 21, 2009 between 1 and 3 PM, Matt will be hanging out at the H-E-B Alon Market at 8503 NW Military Highway, San Antonio, TX 78230 (map).  You can also meet local morning show radio personality, Woody from 94.1 KTFM.  Sounds great, right...?

But wait!  There's more!

They will also be handing out samples of H-E-B's Creamy Creations ice cream.  Since Spring has just arrived and we're already experiencing temperatures in the mid-80s, this weekend would be a perfect opportunity to go grab some ice cream.  So now you've got a great Saturday afternoon, right...?

No, its not over yet!

After finishing up over at the H-E-B Alon Market, why not stop by KB Home's Woods Of Alon and say hello to me!  I'll be holding an open house at 2903 Zurich, San Antonio, TX 78230 (just head south on NW Military after exiting H-E-B and it will be the development just past the H-E-B on the right - they have a big sign out front).  Look for my open house signs and come see me, the house, and learn a bit about the Woods Of Alon.  Open house hours are noon-4 PM.

I like peanut butter/chocolate ice cream in case any one was wondering.

Open house - 2903 Zurich, San Antonio TX 78230 - January 17-18, noon-3PM

Open house, come on over and say hello!

I'll be holding an open house at 2903 Zurich, San Antonio, TX 78230 (KB Home's Woods Of Alon - NW Military, just south of Wurzbach Parkway) this weekend (January 17-18) from noon-3PM.  This is not my usual house in Woods of Alon for those of you that know my affinity for open houses there, but a larger 1.5 story/4 bedroom/3 bath/2,787 sq. ft. home on a corner lot with views of the man made lake and the green belt out back and to the side.  Feel free to stop in and say hello.  If you'd like to visit 2903 Zurich while you're there for a comparison, we can get that one opened up for you to view as well.

New inventory home released at KB Home's Woods Of Alon in San Antonio, TX.

2903 Zurich has just become available at Woods Of Alon.

"The Overland" floor plan from the Trails Collection of KB Home, this house has the optional fourth bedroom upstairs. A total of four bedrooms and three baths, an open floor plan connecting the kitchen, dining room, and living room in one giant living area, and spectacular views make this an amazing "move-in" ready home in the Woods Of Alon community. Check out the views of the lake available from almost all the downstairs bedrooms (including the master) and relax on the covered patio out back. While sitting out side, enjoy the scenic views of the native trees that KB left behind while building the community (instead of the usual clear cutting of the land before construction). Easy access from this home to the walking trails through the greenbelt that will eventually connect to the Alon Towne Center (HEB, Barnes and Noble and more) with gated access so residents can still enjoy the privacy of a gated community. This gorgeous corner lot backs to the greenbelt in the back of the home and more greenbelt and the lake to the left. If you're looking for more space than 2919 Zurich offers, this is the perfect place for you. Also check out this post for some views of the community.

KB Home's Woods of Alon releases new home to their inventory list.

A new home available for immediate move-in on Zurich at Woods Of Alon.

Recently I received news that another house at KB Home's Woods Of Alon community would be entering the market as an inventory home.  I will get some photos of it this week if possible to show you a sneak peak of it, but in the meantime, I thought I'd send the news out.  Its a gorgeous 1 and 1/2 story 4 bedroom home, right on the edge of the community's greenbelt.  The back of the home faces onto the greenbelt, as does the right side of the house, meaning one side of the house has no neighbors.  Many of the windows face out to the greenbelt and offer great views of the man made lake that KB Home has built.  The covered patio out back was a smart upgrade as it allows for some relaxation while staring off towards the lake.  Huge kitchen, gas cooking and built in oven and microwave make it perfect for the cook in the family.  They just lowered the price on it as well and its now being offered at $345,434 (it was up at $377,000+ when it first was released, but they moved it down and incorporated a large incentive on the home, so that the price reflects everything at once).  There are now 7 houses in Woods Of Alon (out of a planned 325), one is still being built and 2 are in different stages of final finishes.  I just saw the new neghbors moving in on Saturday, so the community is starting to show some signs of life (and those neighbors put some great flowers outside their garage in large pots...I will have to stop by and mention that to them).  Woods of Alon is growing and now with interest rates going so low, I have a feeling there will soon be some new houses popping up in there.  The interest level is definitely high, so I expect to see quite a few homes going up within the next few months.  I'll try to get those pictures back to you soon.

Woods of Alon - A view of the community

I had taken some extra photos last week while at KB Home's Woods Of Alon that I wanted to share with everyone. These aren't quite as exciting as the photos of the house, because most of what they show are the empty lots, but I actually find this a bit exciting. Its an empty canvas, waiting for a homeowner to build their dreams and their lives in the most exciting community in San Antonio. A community designed around the theory that you should be able to walk to the shops, restaurants, and parks. A community that saves native trees on every lot, instead of clear cutting and rebuilding/replanting. A community with gorgeous homes and green areas. A community with walking trails to enjoy a fall-time stroll as the leaves begin to change. My goal? To buy a house there someday for me and my wife. Its quite a testament to a community really as typically, I don't like new homes as much. I hope everyone's gotten a great view of the community by now and enjoys it as much as I do. I'll probably be back there in a few weeks to do some more open houses, so if anyone wants to stop by, just let me know.

Woods of Alon Once Again.

The other week when I went to my open house at 2919 Zurich in Woods Of Alon (KB Home), I finally brought my camera to get some good photos. In the past I only ever had my camera phone, so I didn't take many shots. Since I am constantly going on about this house and how much I love it, I thought I ought to actually get some photos to share with all of you. The community is growing lately (a new house went up a few weeks ago), but there still are plenty of lots (there will be 325 altogether) and I've been excited to watch it grow. I just hope it doesn't sell out before I'm ready to buy one of them. I hope you all enjoy the show I put together (using RealEstateShows of course!). The wood floors are incredible in the house and the photos don't do them justice. I have some more photos of the community in general that I'll probably do a show for, so keep checking back for more...

KB Home's Woods Of Alon

Anyone who knows me, knows I am a big fan of KB Home's Woods of Alon community at NW Military (just south of Wurzbach).  I have been holding open houses there for the past month on on of their inventory home (2919 Zurich) and you can find me there just about every weekend from 12-3.  Why do I love the community so much?

A different idea of a community.

Woods Of Alon takes the idea of "community" to a new level. KB Home is building walking trails throughout the communtiy, including one that will connect to the new Alon Town Centre (anchored by a new gorgeous HEB and Barnes and Noble), so that residents will be able to stroll down to the shops and restaurants directly from their community.  That walking trail will also have gated access for residents as will the two main entrances (the already completed entrance on NW Military and the upcoming one at Wurzbach).

Trees not only look nice, they're good for you too.

I hate watching builders flatten the land, strip of trees, build houses, then replant tiny trees that someday will look great, but for now, look like little twigs in the front yard.  It seems counter-productive to me and when you buy a house like that, by the time that tree looks great, you've probably already moved on.  KB Home worked hard to save native trees on every plot and provide large green areas for the community.  Several of the home sites look out on the "green area" (including the home at 2919 Zurich), so you don't get as much of the "crowding" you get in many builder-communities.

Woods Of Alone - 2919 Zurich - Backyard trees

Voelker Park right next door.

Just across NW Military lies Voelker Park, a 311 acre city park with plans for miles of walking trails, and lots of open space.  If you've walked the community's walking trails and are ready for something new, just a short walk across the street you'll have plenty of new trails to discover.

Everyone loves Energy Star.

The homes are all Energy Star qualified and will help save energy, costs, and the environment.  These days consumers are looking for more "green" options in their homes.

2919 Zurich - 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2018 square feet

The home at 2919 Zurich is currently listed at $278,643 and is a gorgeous home (the Lone Star floorplan).  Hand scraped woods floors throughout (except bathrooms, kitchen, and laundry room, which are all tile), upgraded Whirlpool appliances, upgraded lighting, cabinets, Silestone countertops (that look just like granite), full house gutters, and many other upgrades and features make this house a gorgeous place to call "home."  This home looks out onto the green belt area and while I've been there I've seen some beautiful wildlife out back (deer, woodpeckers, and black squirrels).  Stop by some weekend and say hello and check it out for yourself!
