Looking for local San Antonio neighborhood information and photos?

San Antonio neighborhood information on an easy to read map. San Antonio Neighborhood Information At Your Fingertips

San Antonio is a big place, with lots of neighborhoods throughout the city (and plenty on the outskirts of the city that we call "San Antonio," but are technically not part of the city).  Trying to figure out where to live and getting information on local neighborhoods can be a daunting process.  Even as a San Antonio Realtor®, I am constantly discovering new neighborhoods and learning about brand new subdivisions all the time.

In an effort to help buyers, whether they have lived here all their life or are just relocating to our area, I have constructed a Neighborhoods page on RErockstar.com.  As you can see from the preview image to the left, it is a Google based map of San Antonio.  Each blue point on the map corresponds to a San Antonio neighborhood, community, or subdivision that I have spotlighted on the site.  With one click, you can pull up video, photos, and more info about each neighborhood as well as have direct access to a MLS-based search for each community.  Neighborhood information and photos - in your control and on demand.

I don't see the neighborhood I'm interested in on the map!?!

Of course, each of these neighborhoods requires me to take photos, write about the neighborhood, shoot some video and actually build the map point.  I love doing it, but I can't be everywhere at once and since I am a practicing San Antonio real estate agent, I don't always have time to cover a new neighborhood or know which one to cover next.  I am always open to suggestions by the residents of San Antonio (and the people thinking of moving here).  Just let me know what neighborhoods you'd like to see featured and I'll get them up as soon as possible.

Currently, the neighborhoods covered are: Avalon, Caprock (New Braunfels), Fox Grove, Highpoint At Westcreek, Shavano Creek, Spring Vistas, Stillwater Ranch, Terramont, The Enclave At Westover Hills, The Forest of Garden Ridge (Garden Ridge), The Hills Of Rivermist, and Wendover Farms (New Braunfels)Neighborhoods I will be featuring in the coming weeks include: Arrowood, Coral Springs, Parklands, Retama Springs, Stonefield, and Woods Of Alon.  Once I have enough neighborhoods covered in any given area, my plan is to split the maps into areas (North Central, Northeast, Northwest, etc.) so that you can dig down into the maps a little deeper.  I will also be adding new features to the information sections of each neighborhood to give you a better look and more specific information.

So stop by RErockstar.com and visit the Neighborhoods section to utilize the San Antonio local neighborhood map search function and learn about the area, see photos and video, and perform neighborhood-specific home searches.

Or, if you'd prefer to get straight into your San Antonio real estate search, jump right in:

Thanks for sharing this info. I love San Antonio and will keep in mind for any clients interested in relocating to that area.

Killer use of Google Maps.  I really like the way you incorporated video.  This will definitely help buyers get a feel for each subdivision without having to leave the comfort of their homes.  Hopefully, they will also recognize the value of having an agent who has actually been in the neighborhood that interests them!

Barbara - No problem.  I wish I could utilize the map on ActiveRain, but I forgot that it was site specific.  I'll have to ask Mike Mueller (the creator of the map/function) what I need to do to change that.

Erik - Mike Mueller is really great with these.  When he first showed me the idea behind it, I loved it and knew I had to have one.  I have big plans for these maps in the future, but for right now I'm concentrating on the neighborhood info.  I will be adding more info to each neighborhood in the future as well (market stats, HOA info, links, etc.).

Hi Matt, I've read over this a couple of times and it's well written and i really like the mapping set up. San Antonio is huge compared to Austin and a number of years ago, i decided to just work in a fairly narrow area that still included many neighborhoods. It helped me focus to an extent that I am able to have a lot of expertise without spreading myself too thin! I hope you are having a great Labor Day Holiday!

Hi, Matt:

This is very impressive.  The piece, the maps and the video.  I think it will be very helpful to someone who is looking in San Antonio to actually be able to see these neighborhoods.

Well done.

You did a great job.  A potential client will see the effort you put into helping them get all the details they need to select a community.

Russell - Here's the genius of the map...I use mine for neighborhoods, you could use yours to spotlight businesses, listings, just solds, etc.  I think the visual representation of it is what excites me.  We're all visual creatures by nature.

Claudette - And it's only going to get bigger and better.

Susan - Well Mike Mueller helped with the great job.  I'm just filling in the blanks with info to make it San Antonio based.

Matt, I completely agree and actually would like to incorporate the idea into future neighborhood posts in areas where I spend most of my time!
